Now when i click the spywareblaster icon, windows installer also starts... looks like it wants to install office... see also the screenshot.I tried uninstalling and reinstalling spywareblaster, but no luck...Any suggestions? I've come to live with it as it disappears after a couple of clicks telling it to go away. Like you, I've tried un-installing etc. but it has no effect. It just happened today... Have no clue why.Only thing that changed between my last update of spywareblaster was installing acronis true image and your uninstaller... Either uninstall then reinstall office.Edited to remove some suggestions of sharing MS Office. WF cannot be seen to be encouraging illegal activity. -pops- Posted January 6, 2007 Report Share Posted January 6, 2007 I also removed a post as it added nothing and was insulting.I haven't seen anything about warez but the post I edited was an offer to share MS software - which is strictly against the licence conditions of almost all paid-for software. If you are hinting that you are obtaining software via warez, be very, very careful. You are likely put up with a lot more than you want. This issue has brought me here, and no doubt will be bringing others too. It is indeed a problem circulating around the internet.The conflict has something to do with Windows Installer, and so far my reading suggests the Installer may be the culprit, and Spyware Blaster the victim. I don't know—this is just what I've seen.One source said that the glitch results from setting up Office—and it could be Office 2000, by the way—in a config enabling "Install on Demand" options. The advice was to reinstall without those, or else to use a registry removal of them.That doesn't sit right with me, because Install on Demand is a very useful part of a good Office install. As you know, it allows the end-user to prepare for the possibility of adding additional Office functions later on. It is not absolutely necessary, but I would view disabling this as a fairly rough workaround, rather than a solution.I noticed most of the conflicts reported were in 2006-2007. However, I've seen this come up with Word 2000 (using Install on Demand selections, and no Office updates), so I'm wondering whether a Spyware Blaster update might have initiated the problem, as Word 2000 is anything but new.Sorry I have nothing more to offer so far. I felt the thread had fallen off the track with the red herring about warez—which has absolutely nothing to do with this problem—and that those folk finding this a new nuisance might want some moral support.By the way, it is triggered by any use of the Spyware Blaster .exe—you don't need to be doing Spyware Blaster updates. I suppose it does that when spywareblaster is loading.On my second puter I have office 2007 installed. No problem there.Maybe I can try to update my office 2003 to office 2007 to see if that solves the problem. On the other hand... my wife and kids like office 2003 more than 2007...Its not that annoying, I only have to click twice to quit the installer.Like Grongle, I searched the web and found out that more people are dealing with this.
