Page loading problems Firefox and IE

Since getting back on BB, this time with TalkTalk I'm getting an irritating problem with both Firefox and IE. I can load most Internet pages quite quickly but if I click on pages within a page - e.g. e-bay - it takes ages to complete. Sometimes the progress bar shoots up to 95% then just hangs. This is irritating especially as we have to do a lot of on-line grocery shopping as herself wont trust me do do it in person. I'm scratching my head over this and getting worried because she will shortly want to do a months shop. I'm running ZA and AVG free editions. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

The first one worked andsome after several attempts to download it. It found a few items. One virus and 27 other issues including 286 invalid registry entries. Will have to see if FF and IE finish loading those slow pages now. Will report back later as well as using the other link you supplied. I must say free versions of anything is always good value for money.

Onetel/Talktalk/AOL had a big "issue"(as they like to call it) with DNS over Christmas. Maybe your problem (sorry, issue) is connected to that rearing its head again...heaven forbid.

Hmmmm. Having run the oencare package recommended by andsome I'm still getting the same problem with both IE& and FF. Eventually the page finally loads e.g. Tesco on-line shop. I get to the sign-in page quite quickly but the next pages are abysmally slow. Any further suggestions folks as to what I should do this end, e.g. pop-up blockers, safe zone setting etc? Mind I don't get any messages about problems. one thing I do miss that I had before is the double computer screen icon in my sys tray where I could always click on it and see whether there's any data being transferred. It was there before the change of BB provider but not now!

Is the Onecare package the one that originated from Onetel ?

I got an email from the Carphone Whorehouse mob telling me to remove it from my computer because it was now discontinued. (I did not tell them I had removed quite some months ago, whilst I was still on W98SE. because of the aggro it was causing).

If you follow my second link you will see that it is a Microsoft clean up tool, and has nothing to do with One Tel. Nothing is actually installed.
