avexhype
As in the previous thread, my DVD drive is going to be replaced....they said I might lose all my files...what percent chance is there?
-pops-
Is this more than a change of DVD drive?A straight swap out of one DVD drive for another will not affect files etc. stored on your hard drive. If you have been told that it will, change your computer technician.Having said that, you should always have a backup of your files anyway. andsome
Nothing at all changed when I installed a DVD burner in place of my old CD burner.
trackrat
It is your hard drive that holds your computewrs information, not the DVD drive.Could you have posted about the wrong drive?.

avexhype
no, its just the DVD drive, how do I back up my files? me too, I thought, this has nothing to do with the hardrive....
Alan2273
To back up your files you need a program like Acronis or Ghost and another drive (Internal or External ) to back up to.I use Acronis, as do a lot of other people on this forum. -pops-
Acronis - look at the Acronis tab at the top of this page.
