Lamb Chop Posted February 24, 2007 Report Share Posted February 24, 2007 Well today I typed up my Saturday letter to my sister, as she's home from work on the weekend and has time to actually log in to her computer.Using Hotmail UK. Sent it and whoops - there appeared a notepad with obvious strings of programming instead of what I expected back to my box.Logged back on fresh and nothing in any of my folders. I had on with copies of my letters to her etc.has it crashed? 5.30pm saturday 24th right now here. They do keep inviting me to use their new beta system that everyone says is a bit prone to go wrong. I tried it years ago and it gave nothing but trouble, never considered it since.I recall you've had suggestions of alternative, LC but what about Googlemail - it's now freely available (used to be by invitation only) and I've found it infinitely better than Hotmail.Get Googlemail from here. Says she likes it like her car, get in turn the key and go. She insists on using hotmail as she used it in the Library etc.Only reason I use it.Can you long on and see if it is working in UK? Maybe? Incredimail for fun. Outlook as it it there but dull, and now Thunderbird as a work horse.None of these 3 work on emails just to her, most of the time, I get that automatically sent message saying she cant be contacted - does not exist etc etc. give them a try now and then, and funny thing is when one gets thru, next time she replies and I send back, no go, as if she bounces them or something. But no as she does read them as I can tell by what she sends back etc. My sister is a blond. Now she has just emailed me saying she got the long one I sent yesterday, and 2 later test ones saying cant get thru etc. Says she has 2 other people and they never have problems so must be my end.If it is cant find out why as I never have had problems and I send out heaps daily for my pensioner watch group voluntary work.So they went thru fine on Hotmail but on my end of it, I got this notepad with strings of programming within which was my email address etc so was part of my message but no interior just header or some such.Also I had a file on there for my messages to her, hers to me arrive on my personal default. Makes it hard to look up what I last hear from her switching from program to program. So I do not do it for fun. She says all breezy dont worry nothing wrong this end as she always doesIt is me who is tearing out her hair, as it goes on and on, thought I had it licked with using UK Hotmail as it was working fine for well over a yearThat is all. I cannot find any reason for why it comes back on my email programs and also on MSN hotmail from the Oz site.No one seems to know why either. Never heard of it. Weird.Really it is a pain in the posterior, with snail mail I just popped off the letter every time she wrote back from previous which was usually quite a few months as she is constantly busy busy. I do an email weekly as I hate being woken up in the middle of a cold winter's night to answer the phone as she can never work out we are 11 or 13 hours ahead of England. I tried hotmail UK late last night same thing, weird notepad and nothing in my sent box.Just now I tried thunderbird, and so far so good, test message still not back so may have gone thru.Very frustrating and baffling. Pops kindly tried UK Hotmail and it was working, the emails I sent thru got there, so something went wrong this time only on my personal page for some reason.
