andsome
Some pictures saved in 'My Pictures', sometimes have a habit of just disappearing. This does not happen to all, just a few. One thing that I have not created that has appeared however is there, it is labelled 'Album.OFA. I cannot open this album, and allowing hidden files to be seen does not help. The creation date of this album usually coincides with the date that pictures have disappeared, for instance yesterday. I have tried all the options listed to open this folder. Any ideas please? -pops-
Can't help on the specific problem but try creating a new folder for your pictures, put them in there and see if the same thing happens. What I mean is leave the Windows "My Pictures" folder alone and use your own.
andsome
I tried an experiment yesterday. I save a couple of pictures in 'My pictures', and saved the same two in 'My documents'. The two save in 'My documents' were still there this morning. The two saved in 'My pictures had disappeared, and the folder Album. OFA had updated to yesterdays date. The puzzle is, that some pictures stay and others disappear, seemingly into this annoying OFA album.
Irene
This is a real shot in the dark... I was just thinking what the file extension OFA could represent. Could it be Online Foto Album ??Have you registered or downloaded anything from an online photo website?
rong
It is an online photo album, al least it is if you google it. This may not help but to do with lidl
andsome
I don't use any on line photo albums, but a search for Album.OFA yields results in Documents and settings. Now that I have looked at these results, many of the missing pictures have reappeared in My pictures folder.

andsome
I deleted the offending Album.OFA and closed down completely. After rebooting the pictures are all there. Before doing this, I noticed that if instead of opening My pictures from the start menu, I searched for it in Windows Explorer, and opened it from there, all the pictures were there, some of which had been missing for days.
