avgjoe22 Posted March 7, 2007 Report Share Posted March 7, 2007 Okay.I'm a little pissed right now...My Windows XP Professional SP1 had no sound.I looked around, and I found some update that's supposed to fix it.I need XP Pro SP 2 to get it.I need IE5+ to get that.And I get frozen in IE setup (5 and 6 - it's funny, I need SP2 to get IE7. Alan2273 Posted March 7, 2007 Report Share Posted March 7, 2007 Have you tried safe mode with networking.Tap F8 at start up and select safe mode with networking then you should be able to access the Internet and download what you want to your desktop. -pops- Posted March 7, 2007 Report Share Posted March 7, 2007 If you are still running on XP SP1, your Windows installation is GROSSLY out of date and you really should get it updated with SP2 and all the following security (and other) updates as soon as possible. Your computer is vulnerable to all sorts of attacks without these updates and not only via the Internet. Malware infections can come from many different and possibly unexpected places. Please make 100% sure that you have no malware on your system before you install SP2!Restore to the point before SP2, run virus and spyware checks, then install SP2.
