page Posted March 9, 2007 Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 Hi,I believed Ccleaner was a common program that most users already have.I'm good at cleaner option, this function it's easy to use with one click and another click to sovle all online piracy back-traced activities.For 'issues' option, I totally don noe how to solve and I afraid I might crash or corrupt my system when one mistake make.However, I was frustrated by seeing lots of 'Unused file extension' and 'uninstaller reference issues' filled up many row in ccleaner window when I click scaning for issues.Can some one teach me or pls forward a link here if u have graphical illustrations on this guide? Alan2273 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 There is no need for graphical illustrations, just click fix selected issues, then if you accepted the defaults it will ask if you want to back up the registry click yes and save it to somewhere you can find it easily then click OK then click fix all selected issues then click close.I have been using this program for a long while now and it has never caused me problems.If something does go wrong, you have the back up to restore the registry ( from safe mode if necessary). I have used CCleaner for quite a long time now, and it has never let me down.However...I am a regular visitor and occasional contributor at the CCleaner Forum, and in there I see from time to time people who have used the "Issues Cleaner", sometimes with annoying results, and sometimes with catastrophic failures.I am personally not a believer in "registry cleaning", I don't do it, and I don't recommend it - especially to inexperienced users. There is very little to gain from registry cleaning - it does certainly not result in any performance increase.But if you feel that you want to try to cleanup your unused or dead registry entries, do take a registry backup before you proceed! By registry backup I do not mean the backup that CCleaner offers (it only backs up the keys it deletes), but a full backup using a proven tool such as ERUNT. If you do this, then you can go confidently and clean your "issues". You can run it repeatedly; it will for several times find residual entries that have been orphaned by earlier runs.P.S. you can take the CCleaner Tour for some basic info on each function. Thos Posted March 9, 2007 Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 When you click for "issues", Page, and a list comes up, back up as requested and save the back-up to a suitable place, for example MY Documents.. Then you can click on each entry for an explanation. If it says "left behind after uninstalling" I take it that it is safe to fix and thus delete. Anything else, I leave alone.Thos. page Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 13, 2007 Hi all, Tks for replied.After reading thru all of your post last week, I finally decide to do some experiments... :lol: Really crash some of my program.... But.... But, one thing- I followed Alan2273 advise to keep back-up and stored on to a folder.I follow his step only after I uninstalled the corrupted program, reninstalled and run Ccleaner -->ssue option and then I back up.1st attempt failed as I didnt bother keep back up and regret after that.My 2nd attempt success, I finally understand how it works.Thank u all again Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(why?)Ccleaner come with a great tool as you're able to set 'secure deletion' 1pass, 3 passes or 7 passes. Such deletion can protect your past personal piracy being recover from strangers.I set secure deletion under 7 passes. (slower process but much more safer)Once I set that, Whenever I don't want any file or folder i'll just add into 'Custom' in options session.
