Its that time of year again to buy car insurance so if anyone happens to sell it then let me know and you can do me a deal :)

Other than that any recomendations on someone cheap.

The Pru were £450 till I told them I was going to be a student next year and then it was £616. Doesn't seem fair :smart:

Sir R

The cheapest place I could find to get my daughter (who is 5 months younger than you and also a student) insured is very surprisingly the Coop ! - Co-operative Insurance Society Ltd.

Brokers I have tried this week say that they just can't compete with them !

The local contact for us (Lydney - only 25 miles from you) is in Abergavenny.

Tel 01873 850022

Worth a ring ?

If you have two cars and want breakdown cover for both, with Norwich Union Direct, you pay only £10 for this cover to be extended to the second car, no matter who the main insurer of the second car is. You also qualify for another discount if you insure the second car with them.

And the verdict was £509 fully comp from Endsleigh after they price matched someone else.

Scary story though:

Did ring back thing from Endsleigh website y'day evening and spent 20 mins on the phone to Leigh (nice bird!) and then told her I'd get back to her. Found another company in Yellow Pages for student insurance so ring 'em up this evening and who do I speak to?! Yup, Leigh! Now that is scary because I know how big these call centres are! Well needless to say she sold the policy to me but not without a fight.

With a £400 excess I'll be handing round the begging bowl should I crash!

This probably won't help Sir Rad, but I drive modified cars (performance engine mods), and I have found Adrian Flux insurance to be about the best.

For the sake of a call, give them a go SR.

Mr. Mouse.

Agreed Mr M, I too drive a modded car and had quotes for £3000 from mainstream insurers, then I found Adrian Flux and am now paying £960 for my VDub Golf GTI B)
