Requiem
I just used Nero to burn an ISO disk. Is there a special program that I need in order to run the program i downloaded to the ISO?
mark2
an iso is purely an image of a disc, cd dvd etc.as such you shouldn't need a program to run the cd/dvd.Can you explore the cd ?
Requiem
Nope, I can't explore it. maybe i should just burn another copy of it
mark2
Which options are you using in nero, if you're using XP I find isorecorder simpler than using nero
Requiem
I tried to use isorecorder but the install option wasn't appearing. So I will tell you what I'm doing with Nero.I go to Nero Burning ROM > New > Then I drag my ISO into the disk then I begin the burning
mark2
You seem to be burning the file to the disc, tryStart Nero, cancel the wizard. Now click on Recorder>Burn image. When the next box open, select all files from the drop down box, navigate your way to the folder with the ISO in and select it.At the next screen click on ok (do not modify) On the last screen prior to burning ensure that you click on "Finalize Cd" box and select your burn rate.Thats it NERO will now burn your ISO/IMAGE files
nellie2
I like Imgburn can't beat it, freeware and easy to use
mcb2001
just to clearify it a bit for you :-)An ISO is a direct image of a media, usually CD or DVD.It is somewhat made from bit to bit reading the media, and storing it in a file. The file then gets some meta data, like creator and like.If you burn the ISO file on to a media, you will get a data media, containing the ISO file, as it was on your harddrive. But if you wanna burn the image, stored within the ISO file, you need to specially select "burn image" and then select the ISO and burn it.This leaves no questions about how to burn it (data, sound or mixed mode f.x.) since the burn mode and data all is stored in the ISO.Nero has an option to burn ISO images, but there is also dedicated programs, that can easily burn images, just look at the previous posts :-)hope you got the info you where looking for... Brain Ache
Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, Win ISO - loads of them easily burnt/mount ISO.I don't use Nero for ISO's (although use for nrg or img files)If the ISO hasnt been created correctly (failed/data missing) then burning it from ISO will succeed, but running it will give you problems.
