http://www.TwoPics.com offers a free digital photo software to help you design and share your Yahoo! Instant Messenger avatars.

You can use your own photos or select popular ones from their image library.

First choose the TwoPics you want to use. Then upload them using the form on the TwoPics homepage. The small image is the one your friends will see when they look at their contacts lists while big image is the one your friends will see when they point to your name in that list.

Twopics.com's photo editor software will resize the digital photos you want to use and optimize them for Y! Messenger. You can use jpeg, gif or png file formats.

When my son toured the world, he asked me to install Yahoo Messenger so that we could keep in touch. I just could not wait to get rid of it, it was one of the most invasive programs that I have ever had the misfortune to have on my computer. Even after uninstalling it, and searching for files and folder and deleting these, I had to edit the registry to finally shift the last traces. NEVER EVER AGAIN THANKS.

I had the same problems with my grandson. He is/was 'heavily' into MSN messenger. What a pain! I got rid of it too. :D

That kind of beg's the question , What do you use your computer for...??

I'll bet it is a rather bland system you have there...

And you do realize that you don't have to install anything "Yahoo" to use their service ... Downloads - Gaim

Nobody's computer is bland, each person tailors his computer to what he wants it to do.

Just because people do not use messenger services does not necessarily mean that they are stuck in a time warp.

Before running GAIM on Windows read this.

Gaim relies on GTK+, which does not integrate perfectly with Windows. For example, the Windows version opens and saves files via the GTK+ file browser rather than the standard open/save dialogs used by most Windows applications. This, however, is not a problem on Gaim's primary platform, GNU/Linux.

The Gaim 1.5 series has been abandoned by the developers (there have been major crash bugs since its latest release), while the 2.0 series has been in beta for over a year and is still not API or ABI stable.[citation needed]

Passwords saved by the program are stored in a plain text file and are accessible by anyone with direct access to the computer.[5]

Transfer of files through MSN network can be slow, due to lack of implementation of the peer-to-peer file transfer method used in the official client.

Gaim currently only supports text messaging, while competing instant messaging clients also include audio and video conferencing.

Support for various profiles related to the same Yahoo ID is barely usable - it can use just one profile at a time.

Thank you Alan. Saves me the trouble of replying. I'm afraid that some people like to dictate just what should be used on other peoples computers. e.g "Get rid of IE and use FF". People choose what they want and what they don't want.

Well i never had that kind of ( or any ) trouble with it when i had it in Win2000....

And --- Who is stuck in a time warp....?

I'm afraid that some people like to dictate just what should be used on other peoples computers.

And who would that be andsome...? Care to be a little less cowardly and just come out and say it...?

The only reason i said that was - it seems like every time i see a thread like this that you've replied in you alway's seem to be in a disagreement with the software being discussed , ( Firefox ) - "no thank's , I'll pass thank you" <> ( Yahoo service/software ) - "i'll pass , thank's"

Who are you thanking...?

Jason have you tried GAIM on XP?.

Sometimes your replies seem a bit inflammatory, people like andsome work on the principle that if it is not broken why bother fixing it.

I believe that andsome did try Firefox, but did not like it and went back to IE.

And I said people who do not use Messenger services are not stuck in a time warp, the same as people who do not bother with text messaging, it is their choice.

You buy or build your computer and you put on it what you want, and it is not for other members of this forum to critcise anyone because they say they do not like any applications that are suggested.

Why..? , What is supposed to be wrong with it..?

Like i said , i had gaim in win 2k - it worked just fine...

A friend of mine has gaim in XP , he's never mentioned any kind of problems with it...! , so.? , how does it not intergrate well..?

I believe that andsome did try Firefox, but did not like it and went back to IE.

That's totally fine with me , he can use whatever he want's - i personally happen to think that IE sucks and if i ever purchase a new computer i will promptly un-install IE from it...

You mean like Windows Defender is no good, even though others find it to be alright.

I have merely pointed out on several occasions that to the best of my knowledge no one on here has ever claimed that this program found and rectified anything on their computer. If an opinion is asked on this program by someone, then that is my reply.

Very succinctly put Alan.

Since you ask, YOU are very aggressive in many of your replies, and at times rather rude.

Couldn't have replied better myself Alan. I did give FF a try and removed it within a day or two. If I reply to any post in a negative fashion regarding software, it is because peoples opinions have been sought. If I have experienced a problem I will say so.
