how can i get rid of this ?

Recommended Posts

When I receive this message (and similar ones) for my R200 machine I just agree to it and it chugs along fine.

Yeah, I know but its just a pain. If I want to do quite a bit of printing then I cant just leave it to it, ive gotta keep dumming away the window. Think the answer is for me not to be a cheapskate and buy the originals !!

It may affect the monitoring of the ink levels. I am running a R200 on Linux, but every so often it stops because of low ink in one of the cartridges. I then have to take it and put it on my Windows machine to check which ink/s are low. But as a Yorkshire cheapskate I find it preferable to buying over inflated "genuine" ink.

There is NO need to uninstall anything. I have an Epson R340 Photo. This only happens when I first change a cartridge, as soon as I agree to carry on that is the end of the messages until I fit another cartridge. If this happens more than once with any one cartridge then something else is wrong. What I am puzzled about is the Ace Capture .com reference. You must have something on your computer causing this. I NEVER get that happen with my printer.

Andsome,

The Acecapture thing is something which I downloaded in order to capture it to my screen. I wasnt aware until now i could have used the printscreen button on my computer..im clearly not as clever as my mum !!!(irene)

The printer prints out fine and I have no other error messages with these cartridges..May be its the make of them thats doing it ?

As I said, this should only happen on the FIRST usage of each compatible cartridge. I always use Choice Think +. Whatever you do, DON'T uninstall the staus monitor, it's too useful.

I think what is happening is exactly what you said in post #2; the printer is recognizing the installed cartridges as non-genuine EPSON.

I would open whatever printer configuration utility is installed and see if there is a check box for determining non EPSON cartridges. It may not exist, because I'd bet they want you to use their own. If there isn't a configuration option for this, check the web for updated configuration software. Maybe a newer version has been released. Never know, especially if customers get too vocal about annoying pop ups.

It may well be that the the printer has worn itself out since this matter first appeared.
