when booting

i have a external drive [1st time ] ,if it turned on when booting ,stops booting asking to press ctrl+alt+del so turn off external drive press those keys and boots up normal. What do i do so i can boot up and still have the external drive turned on.

This same thing used to happen to me. When it reached the point where it stopped booting, I just turned off the external HD.

Now, for some strange reason it no longer stops the boot up. :blink: . I have no idea why or how!!

I am sure that someone else on the forum will have an answer for you.

I have an external hard drive on which I keep my Acronis images. I see no reason to let it run continuously. Why not turn off the drive, and run it when needed? It take less than one second to switch it on.

Mine is usually turned off, but if I forgot to turn it off after use, that is when my situation occurred.

However, as I said previously, it no longer halts the bootup. :unknw:
