Boris Posted August 23, 2007 Report Share Posted August 23, 2007 I believe that it is normal for AVG to show that various files, the MBR or Boot record have changed. These changes are done during normal maintainance, when you or Windows updates files or have had to correct errors on the drive. The only time that you should worry is if they also show as being infected. From memory (not done this for a time !) - to stop AVG showing them as having changed, open the AVG Test Centre, click the F3 key and tell it "accept the changes" ???I think that it gets caused by AVG seeing any variation between the the current position and its original data in the file AVG7QT.DAT in C:\ ???If I am talking rubbish - can someone please correct me :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Alan2273 Posted August 24, 2007 Report Share Posted August 24, 2007 To get AVG to quit showing them as changed, open the AVG Test Center, click the F3 key on your keyboard and tell it to accept the changes. If it still shows something as changed after this.. delete the file named AVG7QT.DAT in C:\ and AVG will rebuild it the next time it is run.
