Vista Compatibily and Requirements...

Recommended Posts

I have a 512 mb 400 mhz ram

Asus a8v-mx mobo

amd athlon 64 3200+ cpu

sata seagate 80 gb

In the 512 mb of ram i'm already using 32 mb for video.

Can anyone tell me wether i can install 32 bit vista in my pc or what all necessary addons will i need to install vista in my pc.

One more question....Is vista compatible to most programs?

Thankyou!

:)

I always shy away from upgrading existing machines, especially if they are towards the bottom of the list of requirements for a new system (which yours is).

You will most likely find that your upgrade is not nearly as good (in many or all respects) as a machine designed and built for Vista and you may find it struggles to carry out tasks that XP managed with ease.

I have three XP machines and I'm not the least bit inspired to either upgrade to Vista or to replace with dedicated Vista machines.

Think carefully before you do anything to change your current setup, you could well end up very disappointed.

If your computer is like mine it will only accept 512mb of ram...mine is an old Toshiba notebook.

For me Vista will not be a possibility.

As for Vista, my friend just got a new Toshiba with a gig of ram...the Vista on this machine takes up so much memory to operate it eats up most of the advantage of that ram space.

My OS is XP Home...MicroSoft themselves told me "Dont upgrade anything."

I believe it. I have tried and failed several times and have to resort to a system restore.

Right now Im battling a virus that seems to be immune to everything I throw at it.
