andsome Posted October 4, 2007 Report Share Posted October 4, 2007 I have a friend who uses Talk Talk, and she had exactly the same problem. They have now changed the details in Outlook Express from something like pop.talktalk.com to [email protected]. This may not be the exact wording, but it was something like that. I got my monthly "invoice" today and it is still headed Onetel, and my email addy. is still *********@onetel.net . What is more, I pay more for the rotten service simply because I am with Onetel, than do those people who joined Talktalk when it was begat. I have contacted them three times about this but get no reply. I did eventually get to speak to someone last week and managed to get them to send me a MAC, but before finally agreeing to send it I was asked if I would like to continue with them at a monthly cost of £12.99 as opposed to the current £19.99 with no change to the contract. I did point out to Sanjeev's sister that even £2.99 would be exessive for their continued quality of service.I tried to sign up with Virgin yesterday (Wed.) but their website was playing up. I eventually got through to a chap who sounded to be from the North east who tried to convince me that it was my fault for not having the Num Lock activated. When I pointed out that I regularly enter numbers into pages/documents on the net without using the number pad part of the keyboard he went all unnecessary. I then tried "signing up" again after tea with exactly the same result. So I rang their "join us" phone line, only to be told, by the over jolly, disembodied bimbo, that the office was closed and I could "ring back tomorrow when the office is open". The message also said if I wished they would ring me, and for that would I press1, Which I did. The message then said if I wished them to ring a.m. I should press 1 again, or 2 if I preferred p.m. So I pressed 1. I waited in all morning and unsurprisingly received no call. andsome Posted October 5, 2007 Report Share Posted October 5, 2007 When my friend had the same trouble with Talk Talk, it was always the same 18 out of 25 e mails. They were never deleted from the server. I managed to access web mail for her and deleted ALL the messages on the server. The same thing started to happen again as soon as the server had 18 messages on it. Sorry if I made a mistake about One tel. She also had One Tel, but when Car phone Warehouse took over she was offered broadband with Talk Talk.I would still recommend a telephone call to the help line in Calcutta. Dencandy Posted October 6, 2007 Report Share Posted October 6, 2007 Sometimes, but not always, with Outlook Express, I get all my emails twice. The other day I was looking at the screen and the duplicates suddenly all vanished, leaving one copy of each. Isn't Windows/Outlook Express annoying!
