An updated version (9.22.1284, released 2008-03-07) of DirectX End-User Runtime 9.0c is available.

WGA validations is required.

N.B. Vista users with DirectX 10 installed should not install this update!

It's still the same version 9.0c, but with a new set of patches applied. You have probably noticed during the install, when it downloaded, then installed updates for Jan 2006 .... Aug 2007 .... Mar 2008; so there are a whole set of new updates in there.

I noticed that. I have to admit that this is something I just do because I have been that I need to. I really don't understand it.
