Tankus Posted October 30, 2007 Report Share Posted October 30, 2007 not reported much here in the UK press but TURKISH Cobra helicopters pounded Kurdish rebel positions near the Iraqi border overnight and Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed his readiness to send troops over the frontier despite US opposition.full story here The Turks have an old problem and want to finish it plus, the northern oil fields are a good mutibonus What will the US do in relation to the Kurds that they are committed to protect (Turks have the biggest army(1m) by far in the west , fairly well equipped too ) I feel a polish cavery coming on ..... and we all know what that led to a few years down the line !
