Scarecrow Man
Unless you use a script or another programming language, you cannot 'hide' a dos prompt via a batch file. If you issue a start /min somebatchfile.batyou can start the file minimized however.
Panarchy
^Hmm... that's pretty helpful. And you can hide a dos prompt batch file, I have seen one (I use it) it's an exe.But I can't decompile it :(Panarchy
Scarecrow Man
An exe is not a batch file.In other words; There is no supported command in DOS to 'hide' a window.

Here is what I did.....I needed to create a VPN tickler for an offsite user to ping their 5 stores every 8 hours to make sure the VPN links stay refreshed. So much for Netgear's "keep alive" function in their VPN hardware I guess....wasn't consistent. So I created a batch file, but didn't want the end user to be aware it was happening. Did some quick searches on Google, but came up with nothing. Then realized that if I launch the batch file as an Administrative user other than who is logged onto the PC, it will run in the background under the other credentials and not appear in the current users session.I added the batch file to scheduled tasks and entered it to "Run As" another administrator account.
