john84 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Share Posted November 17, 2007 hi everybody will someone please help installed samsung external hard drive all went well went into device manager it is installed but there is no icon when you go to my computer can anybody tell me if i have done something wrong or do i have to do something else. andsome Posted November 17, 2007 Report Share Posted November 17, 2007 Mine is not installed and only shows up in my computer when it is plugged into a USB port, and switched on. Alan2273 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Share Posted November 17, 2007 Connect your drive to the computer, click start / right click my computer / click manage / click disk management / the drive should show up in there / right click it and select initialize then format it to NTFS.If initialize does not show in the right click menu just format it and it will be assigned a drive letter every time it is plugged in then. When you finally get it up and running, don't whatever you do just switch it off when you have finished using it. When on, a small icon will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
