The way that he was willing and eager to participate in the deaths of thousands of Iraqis and Afghans, for his equally religious mate George, was proof enough for me. I agree with catgate that Blair should have kept his opinions to himself re his beliefs and was pointing out that, unfortunately, in our everyday lives, the mere mention of the R word makes people treat you as a nutter. To believe in a "God" is one thing - but to follow blindly the self appointed leaders of a particular "religion" wearing frocks, fancy regalia and funny hats is quite another.I endorse Pat Willener's statement.I started the thread because for once Blair said something I actually agreed with - political leaders who admit that their religious faith (or superstition...?) guides their political decisions are regarded by most people in the UK as nutters - and in my opinion they are.
