rong
The body which represents police officers is applying for a late-night drinks licence at its new HQ - after criticising round-the-clock boozing. The Police Federation wants to serve alcohol until 2am at the site in Leatherhead, Surrey. Only last November, its vice-chairman Alan Gordon blamed an increase in alcohol-related violence on the relaxed booze laws, and said: "We would welcome and support a review of 24-hour licensing".Federation chairman Jan Berry said: "The bar will not be open to the general public." This makes me laugh ("The bar will not be open to the general public.") is this supposed to be a plus, I don't think so, if it was only open to the public it would probably have less potential to cause trouble.
