Seems a bit wierd to me http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toshiba-satellite-pr...1QQcmdZViewItem

I questioned him if he charges for other parts and this is his reply

your laptop motherboards will be fixed for £45 parts included, if you require things such as new screen or keyboard etc you will be charged for cheers.. Aaron

Its very cheap .

At the moment its sitting in pieces on top of my desk, I believe the issue is with the power board.

What should I do, I'm expecting them to do something dumb like charge me £10 for every screw replaced (thats a lot considering I lost most of the screws).

Any ideas?

I take it if the laptop is beyond repair as he states he says you will be charged £10, so i take it that includes the £45 you already payed.

That is a very relevant matter you need to get clarification on in writing. I suspect that if it were the case - he would have collected a few adverse reports.- but ask him.

I have sent a number of things via the local post office - including a laptop. I made sure the parcel was adequately packed (I was lucky - I had kept the original packing and box) and it arrived safely.

You need to check the options for loss and damage insurance ....the standard cover is inadequate.
