AlanHo
On the British Gas website is an easy to use calculator which tells you how much money you could save per year if you follow their energy savings recommendations. You simply enter the data applicable to your house and it will produce a detailed report of your situation.Check here.I used the checker and it reported that I could save £164 per year as follows :-New boiler costs £2500 saves £117 per year - payback +20 yearsLow energy bulbs cost £55 saves £31 per year - payback 2 years (but I already use these bulbs - the calculator assumes you don't)Delay start thermostat costs £114 saves £11 per year - payback 10 yearsExtra 100 mm roof insulation costs £275 saves £5 per year - payback +20 years.Great innit. Mike567
Does it work out how many light bulbs you have in your house, and how much you use the lights?a delayed thermostat what does that do?Just delay turning on the heating, surely you can turn the thermostat down a bit more? Scarthy © ® ™
British Gas = £££ more than anyone else, before you buy new boilers etc etc!!! They even charge around £5k for a combi and rads that elsewhere would only cost £1-2k! RIP OFFs!...And with the energy price increases of late, it does appear to be "SPAM" like to me. The word "could" needs to be adhered here me thinks... ;)

Must be some term from the dim and distant past....I haven't changed the title, they have; it was the NW Gas Board and that's how it will remain. They've not only changed the name but also the service which used to be good but has now gone down the pipes like all the others :(
