TheRoldeg
Hi mates, I'm a very beginner, so please help me with step-by-step instruction. After the I've completed the procedure to install my printer (HP deskjet 2600n) with the original HP disk and rebooted the PC, no printer is listed and I cannot print. In the start menu I find the complete entry (uninstall icon - help icon etc). From DOS shell I can ping the printer and with browser I can see the configuration panel, but no way to print.I cannot uninstall the printer, because I get an error msg after a couple of dialog windows of the uninstall wizard.I've got this problem after I've uninstalled (sigh...) the printer because I could' nt use the web-server to check the status of the HP, but this problem I've solved with changing the TCP/IP address of my PC.I suspect it is related: some times I have some problem with installation. The OS (WinXP Home - SP2 - v 2002) tell me that I don't have admin rights.A year ago I create a new account for my children as "limited account", but I didn't change anything on my own account. In the event viewer I ve some error from FW1, DCOM and PlugPlayManager.Last, I like very often install/unistall new programs, so this could be the reason for the mess I have. Please, help me !!PS: I'm Italian, sorry for my english. -pops-
Hello and welcome to WF. No need to apologise for your English - I can understand it well.First of all, did you install the printer EXACTLY according to the instructions? Printers are very particular about installation and problems are very common. When you attempted to un-install the printer, did you do this from Add/remove programs in the Start menu? andsome
Did you try to install the printer with the CD, while it was switched on, or did you ensure that it was OFF first?

TheRoldeg
I think what I need is to completely and deeply uninstall the printer. Afterwards I'll try to install with the printer OFF. But how to unistall ? Maybe there are some apps that can accomplish the job.TksTheRoldeg
