AlanHo
I closed one of our windows yesterday and the handle broke off in my hand. They are not the sort of things you readily find in the DIY stores.I phoned the original window suppliers and they quoted £18.49 plus P&P for the supply of a replacement handle and £55 if I wanted them to supply and fit it.So I GoogledI found this site which seems to be very good for such itemsButThis Ebay store offers similar stuff at half the priceMakes you wonder how we got on before the internet was invented. It looks as though I have saved myself about £15 as a result of 15 minutes browsing.............. catgate
I reckon eBay has been a good thing for this sort of thing, but it has given more opportunity for the less than honest members of society to get rid of misappropriated and inferior goods at a profit. One does need to be circumspect. I'm not Jewish anyway................. In my case - the Ebay supplier is a kosher business and not an individual. They have a trade counter you can collect goods from - but I am unwilling to drive 120 miles to get there.
deuces wild
I love the NET! It makes price comparisons easy and it keeps me out of malls.I have been shopping for a new HDTV for several weeks now..............checking prices at the brick and mortar stores as well as the internet stores. I will be purchasing it over the net at a savings of $500+ over the brick and mortar stores (no sales tax, free shipping, base price lower). The internet retailer also has a brick and mortar store in Maine, has been in business since 1961, has a great internet rating and offers 6 months no interest. :D I will of course unpack and inspect the TV before I sign for the delivery of it from the common carrier.
