dan1
After I did the Vista Anytime Upgrade to Ultimate, the computer generates an error when trying to synchronize the clock. Here is the error in Event Viewer:Time Provider NtpClient: This machine is configured to use the domain hierarchy to determine its time source, but it is not a member of a domain. NtpClient will attempt to use an alternate configured external time source if available. If an external time source is not configured or used for this computer, you may choose to disable the NtpClient. This computer has never been on a domain. When I go to computer properties it shows me in a workgroup, but if I click change settings/network ID the button "This computer is part of a business network" is selected. I can change that to home network and restart the computer, but it goes back to business network.Any suggestions? I am on WIndows Firewall and tried turning that off and still doesn't work. All my other computers synchronize OK so I know it's not an error with my router. It worked fine before I upgraded.

doug
Nope, tried that method 3 times but just get an error back!
andsome
Try temporarily disabling the firewall just long enough to update. If this works then you will have to configure the firewall. :D

Irene
If you just open your pc clock, go to the tab at the top "Internet Time" and type in europe.pool.npt.org - then press update. You then need to wait a few moments whilst it updates, then press OK.Voila! :D
andsome
I get no problem with that URL at all. When I had problems with the two recommended sites that are part of the Windows installation, someone on here recommended that one, and it has been there ever since I put it in. :D

andsome
I have now deleted my post as the link is not working. If you type this into your INTERNET clock it should work, as you can see from my picture above. I have never needed to type http, the shot above is a permanent feature on my computer.europe.pool.ntp.org :D
