-pops- Posted February 18, 2008 Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 If it behaves in the same way with all disks then the easiest thing to do is replace the drive if it is a desktop machine or use an external USB connected drive if a laptop. I fitted a new DVD burner and it was flaky - sometimes only writing a few MB before aborting a burn. After getting advice from this forum I changed the 40 wire ATA connecting cable to an 80 wire one - and the problem was fixed.If yours is a new drive in an older computer it could be the same problem. Have a look here and see if you can solve your problem.
