Moving protected file

Hi All,

Im using XP Professional. There are some protected folder in my Documents. Now my XP got crushed. How to copy those files from My Documents?

Can any one help me out?

Can you explain what you mean exactly, when you say that your XP got crushed?

Are you able to start up your computer?

I'm making the assumption you've had to reinstall XP and you're getting an "access denied" message.

If so see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421 for "how to" access those files and folders.

I cant start windows. So now I installed Windows XP in D:

But my Protected folder is in C:\my Documents.

when I tried to open that folder, I got the message, 'Access Denied'. So how to get those files?

Can I take that folder before the windows starts, by using command prompt?

Can you try to boot into your original Windows system in Safe Mode; this should allow you to access and copy your files.
