catgate Posted March 16, 2008 Report Share Posted March 16, 2008 I watched yesterday's qualifying prog. and I am beginning to wonder how much longer I will continue watching this charade.There was a very small amount of meat sandwiched in between an awful lot of bread, and that combination was enclosed in copious quantities of adverts.I think F1 has become nothing but a vehicle for advertising and the enhancement of Bernie's ego and wallet. The pinnacle of motor racing seems to be vanishing, and the only way the illusion can be supported is to prat about with the rules "to provide better racing". APC900 Posted March 20, 2008 Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 In these times with everybody thinking 'green'...and F1 constantly harping about saving money; Is it really a good idea to host a night race? I, myself could care less but I ask the question to see what everybody's opinion is on this subject. I may have a few issues with it from a safety standpoint, if all of the circuit is not well lit. catgate Posted March 21, 2008 Report Share Posted March 21, 2008 The thing that I wonder about is whether or not it is really necessary or is it just Bernie and his ego. I know how much better the A43 is now than it used to be years ago but my guess would be that it would not cope with the traffic that Bernie is after.As far as the track and facilities are concerned they are typically British. What more do you want for a British Grand Prix, oh sorry, F1! They would stand a bit of a spruce up, but the recent circuits built under Bernie's blackmail are to say the least well OTT.
