AlanHo
I am swapping my car today and had cause to contact my insurers to amend the policy. I am insured with SAGA.I took the opportunity of asking them to remove a named second driver from the policy at the same time - and was amazed to be told that this would increase the premium. For some reason I cannot fathom - and the SAGA rep could not explain - they offer lower premiums when you name a second driver. In my case it was a saving of £22 per annum.Needless to say I therefore retained the named second driver on the policy but the chance of her ever driving the car is very remote.Might be worth you checking with your insurers - you never know. andsome
You should also check EVERY year with other insurers. I have found that there is NO loyalty. Better terms are almost always given to new customers. I was also with Saga, for two years. Last year I found a much cheaper quote elsewhere, and they matched it. This year I did the same thing, and they said that they could NOT match the other quotation, but that next year they would be able to offer a price match again. It would appear that they only offer such a thing on one occasion. I have found that this almost always applies. I change my insurer almost every year. I too insure two cars. It is almost always much cheaper to take out a policy on line than by post or telephone. :D
