Since I changed computers (having lost all data) I cant play any video on BBC.

I cant remember what I had on old computer as loaded it 5 years back - M$ 11 player for sure - plus I think maybe Real Time ? got to be I need a player dont you think.

Try on this link and see if it plays for you.

plays fine

seem to remember seeing somewhere that the beeb limits access to non UK ip's due to copyright/licencing distribution issues ....perhaps your upgraded payer has updated rights issues ....might be talking out of me arse though ...which isn't unusual

I had a similar problem with not being able to play any embedded videos but the pop-up players worked fine.

This was after upgrading to the latest version of Firefox (2.0.0.14) which I'm still using now.

I later found out that deleting all of the BBC cookies meant that all videos played okay although I have no idea why it happened in the first place

I did this using CCleaner and moving the BBC cookies into the 'cookies to delete' section as they were in the 'cookies to keep' section.

I also had no trouble playing it here in Sri Lanka. Looked like a film of 2 white T-shirts with arms inside. Couldn't understand a word that was said though.

You should see Adobe Flash Player in Add & Remove programmes. If it's not there you can get it here (official website). Or it might be there but is damaged.

There's an official uninstaller here to remove older versions (all of which are insecure). Good idea to download and run this first, then you'll have only the latest, safest version.

Thanks guys - I have the latest version of Adobe.

Verified by their site.

Also I had this little program called uninstaller - I must have downloaded it some time in last couple of months - anyway thought what's this - opened it and it told me I had two bad drivers. One of which was I thought video. Not being good at this stuff.

I also have Driver Genius Professional 2007 which I had paid for some time just before last computer carked it - and it came in handy as I got it to check drivers and it said Realtech was outdated - so downloaded and installed it and guess what BBC plays now - just tried it.

You know when I got this Dell it gave me problems on set up and I had to download all its drivers too and install. Which for me is a cross finger and hold breath job I can tell you. :censored:

So I will actual Den candy get the uninstaller ready for next time. :D
