Pre Boot Partition Manager

Hi Guys,

First post...

I have a question.

Does such program exist that i can burn to CD/DVD, boot from the disk and perform disk partition tasks. Such as deleting partition and reformating them?? I currently don't have an OS installed and need to reformat an old HDD.

Partitioning. No need to burn to CD.

Any Linux live Cd with g-parted on will do what you require.

there's a number of programs you can use.

here is a list of them with a description:

-BartPE -- a windows boot CD with some basic tools, like a partition manager. you have to compile the CD yourself though, or you can look for precompiled ones on torrent sites. http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

-a Linux boot cd or USB stick with Gparted. -- free, simple, and easy to burn to a CD. the Linux interface is a bit difficult though, but you'll find your way. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

-Paragon partition manager portable. -- a commercial partition manager with loads of options. - i could only find torrents on google

-Ultimate boot CD -- contains a lot of handy tools, like a partition manager. http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

-Cute partition manager (CutePM) -- a free bootable partition manager. http://www.cutepm.com/download.htm
