Some of the mortgage debt bought by Fannie and Freddie is pooled and sold to investors. In this case, Fannie and Freddie essentially act as middlemen between banks and investors. Fannie and Freddie hold or back more than $5 trillion in mortgages, about half the outstanding mortgage debt in the United States.they provide low- and middle-income Americans the opportunity to purchase houses with a reasonable interest rate by adding to the available cash banks can loan people. The money they provide is also supposed to help stabilize the mortgage market in times of stress. Fannie Mae was created in 1938 by the government, while Freddie Mac was established in 1970.washington timesthey underwrite around 50% of US mortgages ($5 trillion) and they are going tits up ...a la northern rock ...except on a massive scale will the US federation bail them out ...can they ? Sub primes took a year to hit us ....this is mainstream loans ..... Gordons troubles haven't really started ,they will when this hits the fan ......over here ...and it will god ..... Tankus Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 12, 2008 gets even better for me ....went to work this morning feeling a bit rough , while I was on the bus my chest started hurting , like a stitch , by the time I was in work the skin on the right side started going numb and I had pins and needles in my right arm ......whoops ..... cardiac arrest time methinks , good job I'm wearing new kegs ....anyways 6 hours later at Whipps cross A&E , after two EEG,s blood samples (nursy missed the vein on the back of my hand finally got it from the inside arm , don't think they get to play much darts out in the Philippines monster bruise) and two chest X rays , I'm told by the doc that Ive got shingles , I'm now sporting a blotchy rash from my belly button round the rt side trunk to my spine ....I was actually releaved SO its two weeks off with some discomfort .joy ..needed a break anyways and its raining again Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mine were all round the trunk.People can also catch chickenpox from direct exposure to a shingles rash if they have not been immunized by vaccination or a previous bout of chickenpox. In such cases, transmission happens during the active phase when blisters have erupted but have not formed dry crusts. Herpes zoster spreads only from the rash. A person with shingles cannot transmit the virus by breathing or coughing.People can also catch chickenpox from direct exposure to a shingles rash if they have not been immunized by vaccination or a previous bout of chickenpox.
