A Texas girl and a woman from New York meet at a party. The Texas gal says, "Hi! Where y'all from?"

The New Yorker sticks her nose in the air like she's checking for rain, and replies, "Where I come from, we don't end our sentences with a preposition."

Texas gal says, "Fine. Where y'all from...bitch!"

Been too long since I was at school, I don't remember some of the finer points of English. I am however appaled at some of the things that pass for English today. A good many kids just cannot speak the language. Wiv, fink, and bovver etc are just a few examples. Another annoying thing is the term "he went", instead of "he said". Also, why do so many kids use the word "like" so often? For example "I was like annoyed", instead of "I was annoyed".
