andsome
To ensure that there are no corrupted files in XP, put in the system disc, and then stop it from auto running. Go to START/RUN and type sfc /scannow, then click OK. this will run and replace any corrupted files which may be causing a problem. YOU MUST LEAVE A SPACE between sfc and /
Guest Nellie2
Thanks andsome, already did that. :) The fault seemed to have something to do with explorer because thats where all the error messages in the error log seemed to be pointing.Anyway.... uninstalled explorer and then reinstalled it and things seem ok so far. Scarthy © ® ™
Hi Nellie2 ;),I would read up on the worms if I was your friend as one of their characteristics is rebooting Windows ! Also connection failure and a friend (who got it) reports a black window that keeps popping up - even after removal...Better safe than sorry and if left untreated it will spread.;)
Guest Nellie2
First thing I did was a scan............ no worms or trojans or anything. :)
