Interesting, Pat.

I heard of this thing the other day from a not very computer savvy friend (who has one of my computers) who phoned me saying he had a popup telling him about XP Antivirus 2008 but was very suspicious of it as it used the blue XP theme whereas the computer was set by me, at his request, to have the silver theme as my machines are.

My advice was to restore from Acronis to save any messing around trying to remove the thing from his current system. He did this and all is OK.

(N.B. I badger all buyers of my computers to keep a regular full system backup and to do regular anti-malware checks)
