Common Cold Info

My feeling is that we (modern society as a whole) are too clean - being always exposed to disinfectant and an almost sterile environment instead of acquiring a natural immunity and resistance to the microorganisms that abound in a "real" world.

I was brought up in a rural environment and was exposed to all manner of organisms and muck which would be completely unthinkable to a modern mother. I almost never have any infections or infectious ailments. I don't suffer from allergies, excema, hayfever or any of the other multitude of diseases that scourge our society. The things I do have wrong with me are the result of living in modern society itself - heart disease and its associated maladies.

This research was probably sponsored by the makers of Dettol or similar.

I agree to a large extent with pops. Although I do insist on absolute cleanliness when preparing food. It never did me any harm to get mucky when playing as a kid. In view of the research however, I have now totally banned ''Er indoors from changing TV stations. :D
