cunnidc
My DELL got badly affected by a virus and it looks like I'll have to reformat and reinstall Windows. The PC wasn't supplied with any XP install discs so I guess I'll have to buy a copy. My question is, can I just buy the upgrade version or do I have to pay a whole lot more for a full version? Obviously if I reformat my hard drive there'll be no OS to upgrade! Thanks.
Alan2273
I may be wrong but I am sure Dell have a recovery partition on the hard drive that takes it back to factory settings. (ie how it was when you first had it.)
Belatucadrus
As it's a Dell it may we have all the files necessary for a reformat in a hidden partition, look for a file in C:\dell\docs\manual\ it will be called something like D8833A00.pdf read the section on Restoring the system.
