D4\/!d Posted January 4, 2009 Report Share Posted January 4, 2009 My new monitor has a blue plug for analogue and white for digital action.I plugged the blue cable in the PC and it works fine My PC has no socket for the white digital shape, so I bought an adaptor.I plugged the analogue end of the adaptor into the PC, connected my white digital cable to the adaptor and the other end into the monitor.But it don't work The monitor powers up okay, tries to find itself automatically, but fails and then switches into standby mode and sits there doing nothing. The screen is blank.If I swap the cables back and use the blue one it all works beautifully.I guess the blue outlet from my graphics card is no good for digital cable Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There must be an improvement with the digital system otherwise they wouldn't bother but, it has eluded me.Perhaps, though the difference is only seen in fault conditions - comparing TV faults analogue to digital where the picture breakup is blanking out/blacking out/wiggly lines compared with pixellation.
