Why I gave up the cello

I am devasted to find that I have been cruelly deprived of 34 years of my life.

34 years ago I had an overwhelming ambition to become a cellist and I managed to obtain a battered old cello at a boot fair. After my first year of practice it was pointed out to me that it was a dangerous activity for men - because it would result in a very painful and life threatening illness called Cello Scrotum - so I gave up on the idea and have had this awful vauum in my life ever since.

The very thought of having such a near miss has forever played on my mind and for many years I have felt the need to regularly make a crafty "adjustment" to check that all is OK down under.

Can you imagine my distress at reading this week that it was in fact a hoax in a spoof medical journal report and that my sacrifice was all in vain. .......... :cray:

I can understand your feeling of deprivation, Alan.

I spent three years trying to play the violin, until someone told me it was not the violin that I was trying to play but the piano.

I then suddenly realised why I had been having so much trouble getting it under my chin.
