Hb_Kai
I've never had this problem before but I know what it is...My laptop's keyboard is using the USA type which it should be the United Kingdom type. (Think it's USA anyway)The difference is the "@|# and other characters are mixed around, if you didn't get what I mean. Anyway. The only place where I thought the setting to change this would be, it's not there. (Control Panel > Keyboard /Settings)Anyone know how to change this? -pops-
Make your adjustments via Regional & Language in Control Panel.
Hb_Kai
I just changed everything to the UK settings but it's still not working properly.
Boris
Did you delete the US keyboard - which will make the UK one the default ?
Dencandy
... and Languages > Details > Default Language Input to set the default keyboard. Perhaps it's best to leave the other keyboards as options, rather than delete them completely (see below). One of the problems is that Windows has virtual keyboards which don't necessarily match the actual keyboard. Also note that any changes you make may affect the symbols you get when using a word processor. Finally, be careful if you have any passwords containing any of the symbols that get changed. Suddenly you might find they don't work any more! You can set up more than one virtual keyboard, then select the one you want as default from the Language Bar which you can make available at the bottom or top of the screen as a toolbar.Be warned, trying to work out the intricacies of the Windows language & keyboard systems and adjusting for their effects is notorious for driving many a good person close to a nervous breakdown.
