Downgrade from windows 7 to xp

The final release may very well include an XP upgrade option, as a large base of XP users did not bother with Vista. Microsoft is hoping XP users will eventually go for Windows 7 (which is really Windows 6.1).

first of all to upgrade from any OSes

you need to make sure is that what you want to do

if so at your own risk

my advice is to leave the orginal HDD alone

get another HDD with enough memory

that way if any thing goes wrong you have

the other HDD to use until you correct or fix it

and for the upgraded OSes my advice is get a full version

that way you should have no problem with the full version

and you should not have to worry which older version

that you may not be able to upgrade from

i feel that is the best way to me

and i feel more comfortable for this way

Why should it be? It was offered as a Beta program for testers who know what they are doing. I have been using a computer for many years, and have gained quite a bit of experience from here and other forums, and I would not have touched it with a barge pole. If you want to play around with a Beta program that has been issued for testing, then the ball is well and truly in your court. :D

I am an XP user; always have been. I have never touched Vista.

I have used a second hard drive to Install Seven and dual boot.

I have a clean, fresh, Installation with no legacy XP hiding in the nooks and crannies.

Upgradable from XP. No Thank You Very Much.

I never said that microsoft should FORCE you to upgrade to Windows 7 from XP if you want to try it out, I just said that you should have to option to. Also, like I said earlier, because they failed to include the option to upgrade from XP to Windows 7, when I buy a new computer in a couple of months, I will be getting a Macbook, so microsoft has lost a customer. I also have used a second hard drive to install Windows 7 on another computer, but that's not what I wanted to do....

I can hear Bill Gates sobbing from here. I don't think seriously that any of us are in a position to tell him what upgrade or other facilities are available with Beta programs. As said before, they are offered for testing by expert users, not for people who need support. Final programs are always offered with support. :lol:

This thread shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what a Beta version of software is intended to achieve.

The whole thread is rapidly moving into a pointless exchange of comments - which is likely to turn into less than the the forum's helpful nature.
