ballroomwest Posted March 1, 2009 Report Share Posted March 1, 2009 I went to do a basic 'percentage' calculation using Windows Calc (Vista), only to notice it's NOT EVEN THERE! I switched to 'Normal' view.........and it suddenly appeared. But why on earth would it not be on the scientific version? Yes, I know you could do it the long way around using multiplication and divides, but why should we!(One other slight annoyance is that if you switch view (normal to scientific or vice versa) during a calculation you lose thecurrent numbers and it resets! It could at least warn you that you'll lose the current calculation!)I suppose theres tons of 3rd party Calcs out there that can whip the of windows, but i've never bothered to look. I didn't notice this previously as this is something I've never used.Perhaps I'm old fashioned - I'm certainly old - but I I do the final part (if not all) of a per cent calculation in my head. AlanHo Posted March 1, 2009 Report Share Posted March 1, 2009 Why not do your calculation as a simple decimal - then multiply by one hundred to obtain the equivalent percentage.
