riicky Posted April 21, 2009 Report Share Posted April 21, 2009 Hey guys; quick question. I have an old HP laptop that has had some files that I need to be sure no one can access. They have been deleted already, most of them years ago.This is a company computer and I am turning it in but I need to make sure there is no way to recover these files, as they contain critical information.I did consider swapping the hard drive or "accidentally" destroying the computer, but that's not gonna work. Also, I can't reinstall windows because that would be too suspicious. It's nothing illegal or anything, its not a list of where the bodies are buried hehe, but I really do want to have my peace of mind in knowing that those company secrets are gone from the hard drive forever.Any ideas? (Sorry, I have never used any secure erasing, as I don't have any need for it. As some forum members have pointed out here in the past, the best method for secure erasing is a sledgehammer.) Highest will make it that no one will ever be able to use technology to get deleted files back.So I guess this will do the trick. www.cyberscrub.comNot sure if it is free as I bought it years ago.
