Dencandy
You normally need a router to make more than one connection. Your computer takes priority over the laptop and simply cuts the laptop out because your internet connection is only configured for one unit. Emilio123
yes! If you don't have a router there is only one computer has access to the internet.

jackyjee
Router just you say like Switch , if you wanna to connect more than one PC, you must have either switch or router for internet connectivity. However you may also the troubleshooting when you switching the cable for your LAPTOP
Hb_Kai
Sometimes a Wiki article isn't the best way to explain something to someone since Wikipedia articles seem to go more in-depth than what is needed.Routers allow for several PC units to connect to the internet and can also moderate all the connections on the network. You can block outside computers from using it as well as block certain types of incoming connections, block its usage for certain periods of time in any/every 24 hour period and can also be used for file sharing between computers using your local network. And there is loads of other stuff but the above things are probably the most important and need-to-know things about them. albertjone
The problem in question is router problem, but one thing that you may check the TCP/IP settings at your LAPTOP while connecting internet
