Alternative for windows software in linux

Recommended Posts

I think you need to be more specific. When you say "windows software" do you mean software that will run on a M$ OS, or software created and sold by M$? The same is true of your reference to linux in all its flavours.

^Eh?

Here's a [very] small list;

Microsoft Office = OpenOffice

Notepad/Notepad2 = gedit/kwrite/nano

Internet Explorer = Firefox

Command Prompt = Terminal

DOS commands = bash

Or to run & install Windows programs within Linux, install WINE

Hopefully this'll help a little!
