NO images rendered correctly - Using Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

Recommended Posts

Hello

My brother has a TOSHIBA Tecra M4 Tablet PC.

He has Windows XP Tablet PC Edition installed.

Here are some screenshots from his computer;

I've tried various methods to try and fix the aforementioned problems. I've tried 'svn /scannow', tried CCleaner, tried Safe Mode & tried uninstalling then installing the latest GFX drivers, (including messing around with the .ini, then reverted back to one compatible with his GFX card), yet I still haven't been able to resolve this issue.

It used to work, just happened all of the sudden for him one day.

BTW: He doesn't install software, driver etc.

Any ideas on how I can fix this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy

PS: If you'd like more screenshots, just ask.

BTW: I gave links to the screenshots, instead of using "img" tags. Just seemed to take up to much space having them in "img" tags, however if you'd like me to include them, again, just ask.

Is there no backup or image of the drive? My golden rule in computing is ALWAYS to have an image or copy of anything and everything that would cause concern if I lost it.

Assuming this facility is not available:

System restore?

Repair XP?

Re-install?

Repair XP?

You mean from the Installation Disc?

I probably will end up having to reinstall, but I'll partition first. And this will only be as a last resort.

Is there any other way I can fix the problem?

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy

Okay, well I've tried repairing using the Installation Disc & chkdsk /r.

Yet images still look corrupted...

So I tried different browsers;

- Firefox 3 = Crap

- Internet Explorer 7 = Crap

- Internet Explorer 8 = Crap

- Safari = Perfect

- Opera = Perfect

Pretty strange, eh?

Here's another screenshot for your benefit, one of Word 2003;

And yes, I've tried different included themes, I've tried the Energy Blue theme & I've tried the Zune theme. All to no avail.

Please recommend another method I can try in order to fix my brothers computer.

Thanks in advance,

Panarchy

PS: If the worst comes to worst, I'll shrink then repartition his current HD setup, then install Windows on the newly created Partition. However, I don't want to have to resort to that.

I fixed the problem!

I figured it out; as the computer was shutting down the on-screen keyboard stopped being colour corrupted.

So I created a new user & [bOOM!] everything worked!

PS: Any idea how this was initially caused?
