Absent Saturday

Our son Mike and his girlfriend Sue, both sold their houses and bought a bungalow with a VERY large garden, which had outline planning permission for a dwelling. They have now finished the new build and we are leaving home for a visit at about 4-30 this afternoon. We can't wait to see it. We saw it when it was part built, but decided that at that stage it was not to our more traditional tastes. Our daughter saw it last week end and was VERY impressed, so we are going with an open mind. We are taking the grand children with us. We will spend tomorrow there, and drive home during Sunday, so my team will have to manage without me for the Sunday match. (Probably do a lot better). They were lucky in that Sue's brother and his friends did the brick laying, general carpentry and the roofing. The rest of the work was sub contracted. Mike of course acted as a labourer and general dogs body.

Mike has a peculiar sense of humour very similar to Catgate. Several nosey neighbours called and asked him what was being built. They received various answers. He told one that it was a factory, another that it was a home for asylum seekers, another that it was a home for young offenders, and other tales such as a sewer pumping station, and a night club. He made amends last week end by inviting them round for a house warming. Ours will be a lot quieter visit. See you all. :D :D

When we saw it part built with scaffolding round it we thought it looked like a factory. We were gob smacked however, it is superb. I have some pictures to post later when I get one of those round tuits that everyone talks about. :D
