Irene
Right-Click on 'My Computer'Click 'Properties'Select the 'Advanced tab'Click the 'Settings' button under 'Startup and Recovery'Remove the check from the 'Automatically Restart' checkboxNext time it encounters a problem, it will give you an error message rather than restarting. Write down the error message, then post the result back here. :)
andsome
Why are you still using SP2 instead of SP3? :D
WiKEDFiRE
type msconfig in the RUN and disable all the startup programs and restart the PC. Some times a malware or virus might cause this problem. This is very dangerous advice. You must NOT disable all startup programs. If you did this, Windows would not be able to load properly.Disabling startup programs should only be done if you really know what you are doing - and then only with some caution or using software designed for this purpose (e.g. Startup Inspector).I feel this is a red herring anyway. idodo60
It's maybe malware. Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and install it.Start Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, go to the Update tab, click Check for updates and wait until you get a message saying that it's updated or that it's already up-to-date.Go to Safe Mode by restarting your computer, before you see the Windows logo, press the F8 key serveral times. Navigate to Safe Mode using the arrow keys and hit Enter.Start Malwarebytes, choose Full scan and hit Scan now. When the scan finished, click Show Results, check everything it found and then hit Remove selected. Now restart your computer, this time not in safe mode. Please be aware that this software does cost money - if you require the full "real-time protection" version with automatic updates. The basic scan-on-demand product with the need to do manual updates is however completely free :)

F8 takes me to a window where I choose which hard drive to boot up on. :D
