Irene
Having become thoroughly disenchanted with AVG, I decided to install MSE.For some obscure reason, the icon is not present in the system tray (bottom-right of screen). I know that it is MSE is running, so why is the icon not there! I have search the internet and there do appear to be others who have experienced the same problem. I tried the remedies suggested, but it still will not appear. It was there after I installed becaused I could see the update process in progress. Can anyone help please - it's driving me to drink! - I can't stand it any more - I can't do it!
Dencandy
Presumably you've tried showing the icon from Customise the Taskbar (Start > Properties)? If not, have another drink.
Irene
Presumably you've tried showing the icon from Customise the Taskbar (Start > Properties)? If not, have another drink.Yes, that was the first thing I tried - then I had another drink! I also checked that there were " " marks around the specific file. I uninstalled and reinstalled. The icon was in the tray immediately after installation but disappeared after reboot! I forgot to mention in my first post that this is not on my new PC - hopefully it will arrive today. I will be passing this desktop on to my daughter, so I need to resolve the issue before she receives it. :)
